Trent’s international office selects and collaborates with a global network of partners who are professionally and ethically committed to supporting prospective students in their aspiration to pursue their studies in Canada and at Trent.
Become Our Partner
To become our partner, please complete the application form so that we could better understand the services and support you provide to your clients and educational partners. It may take around 30 minutes on average to complete the form, and any information you share would be kept private and confidential. Upon receipt of your application, Trent International will conduct a review, and the process may take 4 to 6 weeks. Once our assessment is complete, you will be contacted in writing about our decision and information about the next steps.
Selection Criteria
To protect the safety and interest of our students, and for us to maintain an adequate level of support and commitment to our partners, Trent University is selective in our appointment of new educational agencies. Our selection criteria includes, in part, the following:
- Experience operating in the Canadian higher education sector, particularly in relation to public universities, and/or completion of the Canada Course for Education Agents (CCEA)
- Professional accreditation through bodies such as ICEF, AIRC, British Council, or other national/international bodies, and/or provision of references from other institutions (preferably Canadian public institutions)
Trent University does not discriminate based on agency size or scale of operations. However, we require prospective partners to possess the licenses as required in their respective countries or territories that enable them to operate legally as a business entity.

Code of Ethics and Practice
Our partners serve as Trent University’s official representatives in their countries and territories of operation, and it is a paramount importance that they are committed to conduct that is professional and ethical at all times. In broad terms, you are requested to adhere to the folowing principles laid out in the London Statement, whereby agents and consultants:
- Practice responsible business ethics
- Provide current, accurate and honest information in an ethical manner
- Develop transparent business relationships with students and providers through the use of written agreements
- Protect the interests of minors
- Provide current and up-to-date information that enables international students to make informed choices when selecting which agent or consultant to employ
- Act professionally
- Work with destination countries and providers to raise ethical standards and best practice
